Speaker 3From the top, again from the top.
Speaker 1Welcome to the Gamerheads podcast. My name is Roger. This is the MPR version. My name is Roger. Along with me are my good friends and co-host I have Mike.
Speaker 2Welcome, there we go. That was it what. That's what I wanted to say.
Speaker 1You wanted to say welcome.
Speaker 2That was my Resident Evil 4 merchant.
Speaker 1Oh, okay, okay. And then the president and CEO of Gamerheads we have Phil.
Speaker 3I'm firmly not believing your MPR intro, because nobody on MPR has any friends. Oh, that's, that's probably good point.
Speaker 1The stage set co-hosts.
Speaker 3I don't think I've ever heard anybody refer to anybody as a friend on that radio station in the history of history.
Speaker 1I think you're right. I think that's a true statement. Wow. Well, welcome everybody as we uncover the truths of MPR podcast. Welcome to our podcast, and before we start the show, I just want to give a huge shout out and thank you to our patrons for their support Jill Grout and Matt Storm.
Speaker 1We have our Patreon, which we have a link to in the show notes. It's patreoncom slash Gamerheads, and every month we do a giveaway to say thank you to our patrons. So every patron gets put into a hat to win a giveaway, and this month I should say last month, because this is July's month Jill won our $20 gift card. So congratulations to Jill, and, yes, you have plenty of time, listeners, to join this month right now. For as little as $3 a month, you can be entered to win our giveaways and other things. We have other stuff out there too, so cool. So we have quite a bit in line for us. I wanted to do a new bit, though, guys, and it's something that I call fake news, and I feel like that's been trademarked Roger, probably probably so in this segment. What I'm going to do is I'm going to read you a headline and you both, each individually, have this tell me if it's fake or if it's real, and if you get it right you get a point. If you get it wrong, obviously you don't get a point.
Speaker 3Is it a gaming headline or just a headline in general?
Speaker 1No, it's gaming headlines.
Speaker 3Oh good, and so much more exciting.
Speaker 1Video game headlines.
Speaker 3Did you say that the first time and it wasn't paying attention, because I'm kind of watching the no I just gave this headlines.
Speaker 1But you're right, it's just a video game. Yeah, yeah, all right. Are you guys ready?
Speaker 3Yep, okay.
Speaker 1So the first headline, you're saying this was a fake headline.
Speaker 3What, what you said? This was a fake headline.
Speaker 1Oh, oh, oh, wait, that's fake. I'm not ready, you're not ready. Are you ready now?
Speaker 3No, yeah, joy, vado just struck out, so everything's. Okay.
Speaker 1Okay. All right, all right, here we go First headline Nintendo's latest patent hints at futuristic handheld console with holographic display technology. Is that fake news or is that a real headline? Mike, I'll start with you.
Speaker 2Oh, oh, hints at. I'll go with real, because Nintendo's been known for patenting some far out stuff.
Speaker 1Okay, phil, what do you think? Real or fake?
Speaker 3I will agree that. I also think that's probably a real headline, because I did see somewhere on some form of social media that it said that Nintendo is hinting that the next console system thing is going to be coming out in the next two years or so and it's going to be very similar to the Switch. So I can see that Okay.
Speaker 1This is fake. That is a fake headline. It is true that there's rumors going around that Nintendo's coming out with a system next year, but it had nothing to do with holographic technology. So all right, here we go. Headline number two A teaser for a new layer. Oh sorry, mr, those are a teaser for a new Lego. Harry Potter game reportedly appeared briefly on Instagram. Is that real or is that fake, mike?
Speaker 2Why am I always first I'll go real? I don't know.
Speaker 3Okay, phil, I killed a mosquito. I'm not sure it could be real it is real, I don't see why not. Yeah, it is real.
Speaker 1There is rumors that well, apparently there was some image or something out there for this new Harry Potter Lego game and it should be in the same vein as speculation that the Skywalker saga, the last Lego one, is going to be a remaster of this and it's going to look great. But it's not official yet, but apparently it's been out there, so all right, here we go. The next one here, number three Zibo, a Latin American council from the E-E-E-E-E-R-A, is getting an emulator. Is that real or is that fake? And, phil, I'll start with you what do you think?
Speaker 3I'm going to say that's fake, because Zibo is fake. Okay, I've seen pictures of Zibo's and they're all altered.
Speaker 2Well, I'll make it interesting and I'll go real. It is real For no reason other than that is a real statement. Yeah.
Speaker 1So apparently that's from Engadget. Apparently, zibo is getting an emulator. So that is real. Apparently that was not well known. The hell is a Zibo.
Speaker 2There was a port of Resident Evil 4 on the Zibo yeah.
Speaker 1It looks pretty weird. That's all I know, all right. The next one here Cyberpunk Studios unveils groundbreaking AI-driven NPCs. Gamers left in awe as virtual characters develop unique personalities. Mike, is that real or fake?
Speaker 2I'm going to say it's fake only because I've seen how Cyberpunk runs and I cannot imagine them making this happen. Phil.
Speaker 3I'm going to say it's fake due to the fact that it's going to take them at least 15 years to put anything else out. It is fake. That is a fake headline.
Speaker 1I made that one up, all right, the next one here. Ubisoft announces ambitious open world games set to release in the future. Ubisoft's ambitious open world games set in a vast alien civilization journey beyond the stars with cosmic odyssey Phil. Is that real or fake?
Speaker 3I think the game's real, but I think you switched up the name of it on us.
Speaker 1Okay. Well, would you say, it's a fake headline, a real headline?
Speaker 3of confused. No, it's a real headline, real or not at least.
Speaker 2As much as Ubisoft loves their open world games, I'm going to say that one's fake because I don't think they're open world games. I don't think I've ever seen one that's in space. I don't think I've ever done anything in space.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, it's a made up one. That one was made up, although there is rumors that well not rumors. I guess Ubisoft is coming up with a new game Assassin's Creed.
Speaker 3A new Assassin's.
Speaker 1Creed game Far Cry. It is a new Assassin's Creed game.
Speaker 3That's what I was trying to say but it's not, Give us a Rayman, for the love of God, ubisoft. It's all we really want is a new. Rayman.
Speaker 2That's right. Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 1Actually Rayman's coming to the Mario and Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Speaker 3I don't know how many games I talk about that. I'm talking about the platforming style, Wow wow, okay.
Speaker 2I always wish I could have-. I want to have a lot of legends and I loved Rayman legends the more I played it. I'm like man. If only they would make If only they would get the licensing for the Looney Tunes and make a platform.
Speaker 1That would be cool.
Speaker 2But alas.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, alright, my last headline here. A horrendous tragedy involving the Titanic submersible gets worse. As it appears, ocean Gate used second life video game to teach students how to pilot it Is that real?
Speaker 2or fake Mike. Oh God, I'm hoping that's fake.
Speaker 1Okay, Phil.
Speaker 3I don't really know what second life is, so I'm going to go with real. It is real.
Speaker 1That was from a fandom liar. They built the thing in second life and had people pilot it and test. Pilot it in second life.
Speaker 3Why didn't they just buy a remote control submarine, throw it in like a three foot pool and fuck around with it that way?
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I mean that would actually have probably been better, but our winner is Mike, mike, congratulations.
Speaker 2Yay me.
Speaker 1You are right, Nothing but my-.
Speaker 2Stupid no.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, that's what you get.
Speaker 3We're not just giving away my comics. This is bullshit.
Speaker 1I'm just going to play six games a week to see how many of my comics we can give away. The next game we're playing is for Phil's daredevil collection.
Speaker 3I'm going to need some addresses before we do this, so that way I know who to murder and not give them comics to.
Speaker 1The fun thing is, phil doesn't even have a chance to win because he's not part of the game. Hey, no, that was yeah, so that is called the fake news. Let's move on to games that we're currently playing. Phil, I'll start with you. What games are you currently playing?
Speaker 3Well, it's been a very busy, however many weeks that we've had, and I've been playing a lot of stuff. Namely, I've sunk a lot of time into the New Zelda game. I think it's a very beautiful, very wide open.
Speaker 1This is fake news, it really makes me think, yeah, I call fake news Fake news.
Speaker 3Yeah, you're right, I've been playing that. I've been playing a lot of Remnant 2, which just came out a week, a week and a half ago.
Speaker 1Speaking of destiny.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's got a very destiny feel to it. But all of like there's oh, hmm, this is where Phil loses, because words are in play so there's like kind of hub worlds, and then off of the hub worlds there's little offshoot worlds. I'll call them not offshoot worlds, but sections, and all of those are I think the word that you guys like to use is procedurally generated, where it's random each and every time. All of your boss encounters are different each and every time, which is pretty neat. You never really encounter everything twice in the same order. Like we restarted after we played the first time. We were playing on a higher difficulty level, but it got to be a little too taxing because boss battles are pretty neat. It got to be a little too taxing because boss battles are absolutely brutal, and so we restarted on the normal skill level instead of the super high skill level and like nothing was at all the same of what we did the first time, which I thought was kind of cool. That's cool. But yeah, if you go back into the world, it saves your progress in the world and where you've mapped out in the world and stuff like that. But you play through in different orders. There's different bosses, different even cutscenes that will happen and things like that that are triggered throughout the course of it. It does feel a little bit like Destiny, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, except it's not as super floaty as Destiny is.
Speaker 3Gameplay, gunplay is super tight, the lighting in it is fantastic, very unique and innovative enemies as well. In the way that they spawn is kind of crazy. Like even if we would die in a level, the enemies would not spawn the same way every time. Like they would like, they'll climb down pillars to come and get you. They won't just like you won't just walk in an open field and there'll be six of them standing around staring at each other. They'll walk into a spot and all of a sudden, three of them will trickle in behind you, start shooting at those, turn around and all of a sudden there's five more charging at you in this direction Die at that time. Come into it again, this time walking backwards, facing the trees, whoever, knowing that they're going to attack you first. They don't that time and in fact the five behind you don't spawn either, but now they're spawning from different locations. It's very uniquely done.
Speaker 3I couldn't tell you what the hell's going on in the story, as per usual, but I'm enjoying the hell out of what we've played of it. There's a lot of puzzles in it, which, thankfully, the person I'm playing with is a lot more intelligent than me, because I'm not the best puzzle guy around, but I'm really good at shooting things. Oh, and the character I'm playing with has got a dog in the dog. Super rad, like he'll bring you back to life. I feel like a six-year-old sometimes when I describe shit. The dog's really cool and you can pet the dog and he'll bring you back to life and he'll like attack enemies and he's my best friend and sometimes I just yell dog, can you?
Speaker 3name the dog, no man his name is dog and it shows up on the map as dog as well. Needless to say, if you like shooters, it's definitely a game worth checking out. It's really well made. So far, I've only seen one thing in it that's broken and it just got a patch like two days ago, but unfortunately my tag team partner is not back in town yet, so I haven't played it in four days. Yeah, remnant 2. Digged it a lot so far.
Speaker 1I'm swimming on Xbox. Yep. It's not on Game Pass, though, right? No, it's not.
Speaker 3Okay, Yet I've also played a little bit of a game called Mm MacPixel 3?. Oh, yeah, that is on Game Pass. Right, that is on Game Pass, and I grabbed it from our friends over at Devolver Digital and I called them friends because we've spent a lot of time hanging out with them. We've never hung out with them.
Speaker 1Well, I did. Actually I did man Pax East. Yeah, I did Okay.
Speaker 3Oh, it is called MacPixel 3.
Speaker 1Yeah, it is.
Speaker 3Sorry, I was scrolling through my achievements to see if that's what it was called or not, but it's kind of like what the hell was the name of that game that was on the we, where it's just like cracked out minigame after cracked out minigame after cracked out minigame.
Speaker 2Wario yeah.
Speaker 3Wario.
Speaker 1Shake it, shake it, yeah, it's kind of like that.
Speaker 3Like the entire game is a series of rapid minigames where you kind of got to make things. You got to like build things or figure out puzzles within a very small period of time. It's a. It's got some pretty good humor to it as well, but it's kind of got an open world aspect to it as well where you got to figure out where you're going next and you go in there and then you'll play through five levels and you can keep playing through the levels to 100% and see everything that's in the episode, or yeah, in the I'll call it an episode.
Speaker 3It takes a little bit of thinking in some moderately quick reflexes as well. It's not like super closely timed where you're not necessarily cutting anything very close, except for when you're putting the bomb together in your stomach after you've eaten the bomb. But outside of that, yeah, like the timing isn't super pressing but it's. It's amusing, it's good for a couple of chuckles and I think I deleted it, but I've got like quick 200 achievement points out of it and my laugh. So it was worth a half hour 45 minutes I spent with it Nice.
Speaker 1I actually saw that and I thought about picking up myself because that because of a devolver, so that's cool.
Speaker 3It's worth checking out. Yeah, that's just more Diablo three, because they started their first season, season of the malignant, which is really dumb. Just Diablo four. Right, yeah, same thing, man.
Speaker 1It really is actually.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's like the difference between them is next to nonexistent. I could have said Diablo two and nobody would have baddened and I had it. I'm like, oh, he's playing Diablo two and they're doing a season. Cool, not super impressed with the season so far, but I'm still playing it because you have to start a new character to start to play the like season content, which is kind of dumb, but it's giving me an excuse to play as a barbarian.
Speaker 3But the way it progresses is kind of weird. There's like individual missions that have to do with the new season but then after you do a couple of the missions, it'll be like, ok, now complete chapters one and two of your bullshit pass or whatever, before you can continue. So then you got to just do like some tedious grinding for the sake of tedious grinding and then you'll get like another chunk of story and it'll be like, ok, now complete chapter three of season of malignant pass. It's just like, well, this is kind of whatever, but it's it's good excuse to play as a different character and get back not get back in, because it's not like I really ever put Diablo down.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think it's about all that I really did. You get to keep that care I mean like this on silly, but you get to keep that character then right, Like you can run through, both my characters are still there.
Speaker 3And I don't know what happens after this season's over. But I don't think I can take my original character and play season of malignant with my original character. But the nice thing is is because I'd completed the campaign with my original character when I started the secondary character. Her name is Bruce.
Speaker 2So I started my character Bruce, yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah, ok, no real good reason. It asked me if I wanted to skip the campaign and I was like, yeah, I don't want to play through all that shit again. So then, like all that was opened up and now I'm just playing the season of malignant stuff, but then all of the side quests that I did with my original character are back into play, which is fine, because it just puts around quests, anyways, it's. It's OK, like there's a season pass with it as well, but all that shit's just cosmetic, I believe.
Speaker 1If you pay for it, you have to pay for it, you have to pay for it. Yeah, this game was like full price.
Speaker 3Well, yeah, but like it's just cosmetic stuff, it doesn't really like anything.
Speaker 2But then there's like free tiers over the course of it, as well, that'll actually get you things that you can use.
Speaker 3Yeah, some kind of red ash things that give you buffs. Yeah, we'll go with buffs to help your character out.
Speaker 1I guess. I guess you're right because, like you, can go to their store and buy cosmetics.
Speaker 3I should anyways, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1OK, yeah, ok. I mean, is there free cosmetics at all?
Speaker 3Yeah, there is, ok, a couple of different free cosmetic stuff in it as well. How?
Speaker 1much. Do you know how much the pass is? I'm just curious.
Speaker 3I'm going to say ten dollars yeah. Ten dollars sounds great Hmm, how long is the third of the price of this October, so it's a super long season. Ok, ok, well, that's I mean, it's also a third of the price of a skin and overwatch. So it's a big deal and that shit is yeah.
Speaker 1Overwatch and I would say like I think I don't know how the expensive the skins are, but it's probably cheaper to buy the season pass than to buy the skins and then just earn skins. But I don't know, maybe not.
Speaker 3Yeah, and I mean some of them look cool, but in my opinion, in Diablo, like you're only playing, I've I've got a relatively large TV and my character is still only like four inches tall, so I don't really give a fuck what my character looks like.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's just kind of a blur of swords and arrows.
Speaker 1Yeah, Like yeah. I don't care, that's a good point. Yeah, because I really actually, I mean I will say this like I I'll just say this up quick I've been playing more Fall Guys because I wanted to earn more like cosmetic stuff, because I love like the cosmetics and Fall Guys, but but that's, but that's. I mean I do think that's the whole reason why you play Fall Guys and get the season passes for the cosmetics in that game.
Speaker 3So yeah, well, their cosmetics are fun and like theme based. They're not just like yeah, that's true. Oh look, now your helmet is three horns instead of two.
Speaker 1Yeah, and your character is big enough to you can actually see like, oh, he's wearing the costume. You know the Ghostbusters costume, that's cool.
Speaker 3Yeah, like I literally have no idea what my character looks like until I hit the back button or whatever, and like the big thing of them pops up on screen and just like, oh, that's what my armor looks like Neat.
Speaker 1I don't care.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1Fair? Anything else? I don't think. So what about you, Mike? What do you even play?
Speaker 2Did I mention? I don't know what was the last time I talked about the power wash simulator with SpongeBob. What did I say?
Speaker 3It was broken. Yeah, you couldn't get the one piece off of Squidward's house.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, okay, patrick's house.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to actually kind of retract that because that was based on user error. So I finished. Yeah, so yeah, laugh it up, good times. So there is a in the game, there is a scaffolding, you know, with, with, with steps goes up really high. I did not realize that you could pick this thing up and move it around.
Speaker 3Oh, oh.
Speaker 2So I went. I went on YouTube and I was watching a video of somebody finishing it, like was this person having problems with it? Because it was really like it was. It was killing me and I saw him pick it up. I'm like, I'm such an idiot.
Speaker 1Yeah, you know what?
Speaker 2the game.
Speaker 1What's that I was going to say? We're all been there, mike, so don't don't. Yeah, you know.
Speaker 2So yeah. So I fired up the game, picked it up, dropped it in the right spot, climbed up. It took me four seconds.
Speaker 1So then I kept going.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1But I will say this I don't know if it's so much your fault or is it like game design, because, like, if it's not intuitive, I don't know if it's not intuitive, like no, it's intuitive.
Speaker 3All right, I'm just thinking that pops up that says press a to move scaffolding and extra type of things.
Speaker 2Yeah, I just didn't, I just didn't realize it.
Speaker 1All right, all right, fair, fair, fair.
Speaker 2So then I went through all the other levels and it was a lot of fun. It was cool seeing all the different nods to the show and all the different little Easter eggs and stuff. So, um, that was a lot of fun. So so I take back what I said.
Speaker 1OK.
Speaker 2SpongeBob levels and PowerWars simulator are a lot of fun.
Speaker 1All right.
Speaker 2Awesome, and then I was also playing Fall Guys. So, roger, you got to let me know when you're playing Fall.
Speaker 3Guys, so we can I know, Do doos.
Speaker 1I know, because I wanted to do that.
Speaker 2Yeah, I got the, I got the blinky outfit, the pack. Oh, you did.
Speaker 1That's gone now, isn't it? Because I don't see any of the Pacman outfits.
Speaker 2I don't know, maybe, yeah, maybe they'll. Maybe it left.
Speaker 1Yeah, that kind of made me sad because I went back, mike was like oh no, what's up.
Speaker 3That's cool, though. Yeah, what did you say, Phil? What did you say? We lost Mike. His face is gone. Oh no, you're still here? No, you're still here, don't worry, I don't see Mike's face.
Speaker 1I'm sorry it's there. It's sad. I see your, I see your beautiful face, mike, don't worry, thank you. So so you. So you have Pacman two, or just do you have all the characters now or no?
Speaker 2No, I just have. I just got blinky because I only had enough to get that.
Speaker 1OK, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, we had to do so. We do have to play, because part of those I don't I don't want to say past, but like the, what did they call them?
Speaker 2Seasons or challenges or something, whatever they are. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1I don't know, Like it's a play duels and I'm like, oh yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, yep, they're doing some of that now, so yeah, doesn't play some fall guys, it's worse.
Speaker 1OK.
Speaker 2And then I played a game called Fire Girl Hack and Splash Simulator.
Speaker 3That sounds awesome.
Speaker 2Yeah, guess what kind of game it is Roger. Hey, mike, is that?
Speaker 1a roguelike.
Speaker 2No.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2The answer is right there in the. It's your, one of your favorite genres of games?
Speaker 3The CCG.
Speaker 2No, you're, you're playing as a firefighter.
Speaker 1Oh, no what. I don't have a problem with firefighters, I do not, I know, I don't, I don't know, I don't know, but we've got the recording of you shitting all over firefighters and saying how much you hate firefighters.
Speaker 3No, it was the game they are and how they work harder.
Speaker 1It was real firefighters. The game is trash. I know you guys love it Games awesome, it's no, it's not. It is not. That game is terrible. Anyway, continue.
Speaker 2So this one's a 2D game with pixel, with the characters are pixel, pixel art, but levels are 3D and more rendered. So it's almost like like an octopath traveler situation, but it's it's a. It's a really good contrast between how the characters look and how the levels look. But basically, you are going, you know you're, you start off, you're in the fire, the firehouse, and you get called to a you know a building that's on fire. You go into the building and you have so much water and you have to spray and obviously put out the fire, but the fire is like enemies that are fire. Oh, you know, yeah.
Speaker 2So like there's some that just sit there but there's some that try to attack you, it's a little bit. It's it's kind of slower paced, but there's a time limit and you have to find the, the people that are stuck in the building and rescue them, so you don't have to put out the fire completely. The goal is to, within the time limit, find as many people as you can to rescue them and then exit the building. So then, once you do that, you go back to the firehouse. You get money. Based on that, you use that to upgrade your you know your fire hose. You can upgrade your health, you can there's you know lots of other stuff that you can do, and there's a lot of cool things that you can do. There's no, well, there is a jump, that's right, you can jump, but then if you jump and shoot down, you just you blast yourself up you know you have an axe that you can break down doors and you know, break down like piles of debris to see if there's any like power ups and stuff underneath it.
Speaker 2The music is good. The fire effects look very nice, the, the, the lighting effects are really well done. So it's a it's a fun game like that you could just play for half an hour at a time.
Speaker 1Nice. Is that a? Is that on Game Pass, or what is that on?
Speaker 2No, I bought it on Xbox. Yeah, so I have it. You can play it too. Yeah. You don't want to play it because you hate firefighters.
Speaker 1Oh my God, oh my God.
Speaker 2This is actually female firefighters.
Speaker 1Oh my God, that is not true. That is not true, phil. That was your question.
Speaker 3I have two random questions, one of which involves firefighting. Have we ever discussed the game? I believe was called like Firefighter 2029 by maybe Kenomi. I think we did when we were talking about Is that?
Speaker 2an arcade game.
Speaker 3No, it was off the Metal Gear Solid, engine of all things, oh I think we did.
Speaker 1I think we briefly talked about it on the Niddy Focus.
Speaker 3Yeah, did we that show was great? I think so. And number two did you just got green? Did you say that show was great? Yeah, that show was great, I liked it.
Speaker 1It was great I missed it.
Speaker 3Yeah, I know you too. Anyway, have you guys gotten a menu update for your Xboxes yet? No, yes, have you? No, I haven't. You did, though, yeah.
Speaker 1Huh, I didn't yeah.
Speaker 3Is it like just?
Speaker 1random people that get the invite first.
Speaker 3It's a slow rollout. Yeah, Because Andy got his and he was like my Xbox menu was all fucked up. Now it looks like a PlayStation 5 menu and mine still looks the same, but I can't, like it took away the store for some reason, as well as deals with gold, and like I can't add anything to the menu until I get this menu update and it's super frustrating and I was just wondering if anybody else was better.
Speaker 1No, I, well, no, I, I was just playing it the other day and I, on my menu, was there, so I don't know, I haven't played today yet. So maybe, maybe I played this week, so I don't know. Well, all right, anything else Mike?
Speaker 2Yes, another chill game. This is a good game to just relax with and even fall asleep to. I was playing some more and I think I talked about this before. This might have been one of those games that we did when we were doing the Nindie show. It's on the switch game called Hidden Through Time.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, remember.
Speaker 1You got me hooked on that game actually. Yeah, I was born.
Speaker 2I went through my whole list of switch games and I'm like no, no, no no, no, that's what it's like when I look at my switch games to Mike.
Speaker 2So I'm like, oh, hidden through time, I haven't played that in a while. So I was playing and then the next thing I knew was like two hours later, yeah, I'm almost done with the main. And then with the main story, even though there's no story, and then there's DLC to purchase after that, so, and then there's also stuff that you can also like. There's also fan made levels that are uploaded.
Speaker 1So you can download those two.
Speaker 2Oh, that's cool, I've got a ton of content as I go through it. So basically, if you're not sure what Hidden Through Time is Hidden Through Time for those of you who have just heard of it it's kind of like a Where's Waldo video game and it's basically you're just you're, you're looking around for specific objects that are that that are at the bottom of the screen, and it gives you a little hint of where they might be. So yeah you can zoom in zoom out.
Speaker 1Yeah, it is really relaxing. I play that game too right before I like going to bed. I'm just like, oh, this is just a nice chill game to just underwind to. You know, yeah, I like that game. I mean, yeah, it's, it's right, it's just, it's just a Where's Waldo, but not Waldo obviously.
Speaker 2Without.
Speaker 1Waldo yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1If you're looking for Waldo, you'll never find him.
Speaker 2Did you ever see that video of this guy that made a TikTok of him going to Half Price Books and buying a Where's Waldo book?
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2And he takes it. So he takes a video of himself. He goes to Half Price Books, he buys a Where's Waldo book and then he goes and scans it. He scans the book where Waldo's at, puts it into Photoshop and erases Waldo, then prints it out, cuts out that same area and then glues it onto the thing and then puts it and then puts it.
Speaker 1Really.
Speaker 2Takes it, takes it back to Half Price Books and puts it on the shelf. So really, so eventually somebody else would buy it. They would never find Waldo.
Speaker 1They'll never find him. Oh my gosh, that's pretty good. That is pretty good, that's next level villainy right there?
Speaker 2Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1Yeah, it is Anything else.
Speaker 2That'll be it For myself.
Speaker 1I don't know, Mike, are you still playing Ant Stream Arcade? I played.
Speaker 2I dabbled in it a little bit.
Speaker 1I think I played some more root beer tapper that was a bit yeah, oh, I I love this game so much. I mean it's hard to call it a game because it's a service I guess, whatever, I don't know. It's not a game, right. But the thing I was just realizing this this week, so I was playing it. So they'll have a lot of giant challenges, right? So they'll have a score that somebody has and then you and a bunch of people have to play against that score and try to beat that score. And I was so proud of myself because there was a lot of scores I was beating I was like, oh wow, I actually beat the giant, but I'm not sure if they were really giants. It felt like the score was pretty low, but it doesn't matter.
Speaker 1There was one that was in Super Star Wars. You are flying the X-wing in the trenches and you have to blow up in the matter of like three to five minutes I don't remember how long you got a time time. Uh, you're timed and you have to blow up as many tie fighters as you can. And it was at that moment that I was like they had to go into the code and like change some of this stuff to allow these challenges to happen. That's crazy. That's crazy. Hmm, right, doesn't matter. I think that's crazy. Like, how did they get, like some of the games I understand, like some of the games that are midway games? I'm like, yeah, okay, midway doesn't exist anymore and they got the code and they're able to do that. But, like the Star Wars games, those are Lucas art games, aren't they? I don't know?
Speaker 3Yeah, Like the N64 ones.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, not the.
Speaker 3N64 ones, the Super Nintendo ones, the arcade games. Yeah, that's sorry, that's what I meant, yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, but he doesn't know in the right setting that shit anymore. He sold all of it. Yeah, but Disney would Wouldn't they.
Speaker 3Disney doesn't care about that.
Speaker 1Really, I maybe had Nintendo games like that stuff, yeah, but it was awesome. It was so cool and like, and I was just, you know, playing challenge after challenge after challenge after challenge, just playing through a bunch of challenges, and it's fun. I like that game a lot and I don't know, it opened up me up to a bunch of games. I didn't even know what existed. There was one called Combat Tribes I think that's what it's called, and it's a side, a side scroll to beat them up. Do you know this game? Yep, I know about it. I never heard of this game before and it's really fun.
Speaker 1And then that level in that challenge you had to beat up as many clowns as you can in like three minutes. And I was like and you know, it did the whole Batman Returns on the Super Nintendo where you could take the two heads and smash them together that was one of the two enemies right and smash their heads together. You could do a bunch of wrestling moves. You can body slam them, take one and spin them around and throw another one into each other, like I love that game. That game is so.
Speaker 1And then I just went back and after the challenge I was like I'm just going to play it. So I just started playing through the game and you can. You know it must have been an arcade game because you can add quarters just by hitting start, so you can just keep playing through the whole game and just beat it like, without you know there's no like, oh, and you don't. You know somebody lies right Like Contra or something like that. So that was cool, I'm going to fuck on. Are you OK over there, phil? Yeah, man, oh, ok.
Speaker 3With cameras on. Now you guys just get to see how much I've fidgeted around when everything else is happening.
Speaker 1So what else have I been playing? Oh, I played Venba. That is the cooking narrative game you were streaming that.
Speaker 3I was streaming that Is that the one that I want to say Indian based.
Speaker 1Yeah, ok, so it's about a family that immigrants immigrates to Canada and they have a child, and in the challenges of being an immigrant in Canada and in raising a child in in a new, new, new country, and and what connects them is the food. And it's really, it's a cool game and I got teary eyed. I mean, there's moments in there that made me pause and reflect on a couple things. And you know one thing that I realized I don't know if this was the intention of this game. I actually got to interview the developers of this game.
Speaker 1I'm not sure if this was the intention of the game, but one of the things that I did realize was like, wow, like doesn't matter. Like what your cultural background is, or even like the time span, like where you're, like either this, this game, takes place in the 90s, doesn't matter. Like if you're now or then, like the fears and concerns of parents have always been the same Right. Like will my kid grow up to be successful? Can they over? Or will they like? You know, what are you doing over there, phil? Why are you?
Speaker 3You know, the red light on the top of the microphone is driving me insane, because I see it off my glasses and I'm trying to find what I can do to cover it up. This is why we don't use cameras.
Speaker 1All right, all right, yeah, so. So Venba is awesome. It's such a great game Like if you haven't played it, you should play it. It's on Game Pass, so it's certainly a game that you can. It doesn't take long to play through. I think it takes like an hour or two to play through a run. So that's, that's available. Yeah, and the cooking part is fun. I really enjoyed that as well. Another game I've been playing is Fall Guys as well, so I've been playing some more Fall Guys I've streamed out as well, and then Splatoon 3 as well. So I don't know why I'm just in this kick of like competitive games right now, and so I played a lot of Just play Overwatch.
Speaker 1Yes, yeah, I played with you guys once and I was so bad. I was so embarrassed by how awful I was.
Speaker 3That's me most nights.
Speaker 1Yeah, not as bad as me. Like, that is bad as me. I was really embarrassed to how awful I was at Overwatch because I had no idea what I was doing. I should play, alright.
Speaker 3If you want to feel better about your Overwatch skills, play with me after about 10, 30, 11 o'clock at night and you'll feel alright.
Speaker 1You know, that's actually how we first met. Phil was playing Overwatch.
Speaker 3You know that you were going to say when I was drunk and I was like no shit. No, we played Overwatch together. I kind of remember that with Kyle and Karen. Yeah, I'm assuming, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1Because you were like oh, is this the guy from Gamerheads?
Speaker 3and I was like yeah, You're like holy shit, they actually listen to the show.
Speaker 1Yeah, somebody actually listens to the show. So, yeah, so I don't know, I'm going to just kick right now to play some competitive games. And oh, the other thing is so at my daughter's school they're going to have Esport League or a team for Splatoon. So she played it then this weekend as well and I said what do you think? And she's like, I like it. So I'm going to pick up another copy so that way we can play together. And yeah, she said she's joining the league, which is awesome, because she wasn't interested in any of the other Esports events and she doesn't really want to go out for any other sport really, which I mean, I didn't either, so I don't blame her. But Esports she's like. She took an interest into Splatoon and she enjoyed it. She said that was a lot of fun, so we'll be doing that. So that's what I've been playing. Let's move into our next segment. Mike, this is the trivia game that you wanted to play, yeah.
Speaker 2Do you want to do this now or do you want to, since you already did a game? Do you want to do this now or save it until next week? It's up to you. We can do it.
Speaker 1We can do it, let's do it.
Speaker 2Okay, that's fine. Yeah, that's all right. So it's a good thing that we're doing this, because this is I don't even know how to segue into this so I thought this would be a fun game to play. We had an anniversary recently. Oh, happy anniversary. It's not my anniversary.
Speaker 1Happy birthday to you. Oh, thank you.
Speaker 3It was like two months ago. I'll take it. I'll take it. Did you guys have a good 4th of July?
Speaker 1How was your?
Speaker 3Memorial Day guys.
Speaker 2Nintendo Power recently celebrated its 35th anniversary.
Speaker 1How Wait? What time? How did they celebrate the 30th? They're not even around anymore.
Speaker 2Well, okay. I celebrated Nintendo Power's 35th anniversary. The magazine Nintendo Power came out 35 years ago, okay.
Speaker 1Can I just say something.
Speaker 2Yeah, there's no more anniversary.
Speaker 1Because if you're married and you got a, divorce and that marriage ended. You would not celebrate that. Oh, it's our 40th anniversary. I would, 20 of those we weren't married.
Speaker 3That was still a good run, that's fine.
Speaker 2We don't have to play the game.
Speaker 3That's fine, I want to play this game I don't know why Games are coming out next week. No, that's fine, the words of Motorhead. It's time to play the game.
Speaker 2I put a lot of work into this.
Speaker 3It's all about the game and how you play it. It's all about controlling if you can take it. Mike let's play this game.
Speaker 1Let's play this game. 35 anniversary yes, let's play. Let's play Okay.
Speaker 3Let me throw this one at you, Roger.
Speaker 1I'm going to counteract your argument really quick here.
Speaker 3Okay, okay, so let's pretend you were married.
Speaker 1I am married, I'm not.
Speaker 3Okay, let's pretend that my let's not say pretend I'm married, pretend to aspect once Okay, okay, yeah, okay, and your wife dies. Are you still celebrating your anniversary every year?
Speaker 1Do I get remarried in this pretend life? Because I think, if you got remarried, I think it would be weird if you're celebrating your anniversary every year.
Speaker 3I would imagine that your next wife would understand you still celebrating the anniversary of your first wife If she died of like a car accident or cancer or some shit. Maybe like oh yeah, I totally get why you this day is a little solemn for you?
Speaker 1Okay, fair, would you still celebrate that anniversary? All right, all right, fair, I would celebrate that anniversary as much as I do not care for it.
Speaker 3Nintendo is still around. Well, their magazine is not. We can celebrate Nintendo Power's anniversary, mike.
Speaker 1I stand corrected. I am so sorry. I even challenged you on that. Let's play this game.
Speaker 2All right, so. I don't even want to play this game anymore.
Speaker 1All right, you're not really upset, are you? You're just, oh, okay. Okay, so here's the game we're gonna play, here's coming.
Speaker 2I'm gonna give you something, some kind of thing. You'll see what it is a little bit and you're going to tell me if this thing that I give you is older or newer than when Nintendo Power issue number one came out.
Speaker 1I like this. It was 35 years ago.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1Are we taking that? Don't do the math, okay, okay.
Speaker 2I won't do the math 35 years ago. Stop it, stop math.
Speaker 1No, it's, I'm not, I'm not math. I actually don't know what 35 years ago was All right, so I'm going to get this totally bad.
Speaker 2So we'll practice. So let's do a quick practice round, roger. So the gummy bears cartoon, is that older or newer than Nintendo Power?
Speaker 1Older.
Speaker 2You are correct, it is older. Came out two years before Phil Red Dead Redemption. What?
Speaker 3Is that?
Speaker 2newer or older than. Nintendo Power number one, that's right, that is newer Good job. Way to throw me that muffin.
Speaker 3I really appreciate that, no problem. I'm glad I at least saw it sing away. How come you gave me gummy bears?
Speaker 1I feel like that was a harder one, but yes, I just said Phil's fucking brain dead.
Speaker 3I'm going to give him a softball Roger OK Sour patch kids.
Speaker 2Oh newer, newer. Those are actually older.
Speaker 1Really.
Speaker 2Patch kids came out in 1985. I would have gone wrong too.
Speaker 1I don't remember eating sour patch kids as a kid. No.
Speaker 2All right, phil. The movie Oppenheimer what?
Speaker 3You're really lucky. I've actually heard of this movie because there's a good chance that I haven't heard of Oppenheimer and it's newer.
Speaker 1It just came out last week or so what?
Speaker 2is this bullshit? He's right. Ok. Well, you should have poo pooed on my game.
Speaker 3You remember the Jill game, Roger. Remember that time.
Speaker 1All right, fair, fair, fair.
Speaker 2All right, so here we go. So that was just for fun. Now dismovers. Ok here we go, castlevania.
Speaker 1Ooh, I would say it's newer.
Speaker 2It's older, 1986. What Yep Really, castlevania is older.
Speaker 1Because I remember well, maybe it was.
Speaker 2Castlevania 2. That was on the cover.
Speaker 1It was Castlevania 2 that was on the cover, wasn't it yeah?
Speaker 2OK, all right, phil. Full House, the premier date of Full.
Speaker 3House. Ooh, that was after Nintendo Power.
Speaker 2That is incorrect.
Speaker 3Damn it really.
Speaker 2Yep Full House came out before Nintendo Power.
Speaker 1Really.
Speaker 2Yep Wow.
Speaker 1That's crazy 1987. That's when the that's when.
Speaker 2Full House first started. Ok, Roger, back to you Zelda 2, the adventure of Link.
Speaker 1Oh, that came out after Nintendo Power.
Speaker 2That is correct, yep, because I do remember there was a cover of Zelda 2. Yep All right. Phil Crystal Pepsi.
Speaker 3Ooh.
Speaker 2Remember Crystal Pepsi.
Speaker 3I do.
Speaker 2Is that newer or older than Nintendo Power?
Speaker 3So I'm going to say newer.
Speaker 2Incorrect. 1992 is when that came out.
Speaker 1That came out in 1992. Yep, I feel like that came out in the 80s Wow.
Speaker 2Yeah, because it also had that Van Halen song. Well, van Halen was 80s too, so well anyway.
Speaker 1Which Van Halen, though, eddie, no, I mean, was it no? Well, that was the song that came out with it. No, that was the song that came out with it, sammy, or.
Speaker 3David Lee Roth. Yeah, do you know that Eddie Van Halen did the guitar rift and beat it and got no credit or money for it?
Speaker 1No, I didn't know that.
Speaker 3Yeah, he just wanted to work with Michael Jackson. He didn't want any kind of credit or money for it. Wow, hmm.
Speaker 2The more you know, the more you know. All right, roger the first Mega man.
Speaker 1Hmm, that came out before.
Speaker 2You are correct. 1987. Phil, the first Madden game. After that's correct. 1990 is when that came out Really. Yeah, roger, nintendo Serial.
Speaker 1Oh make him 10 more.
Speaker 2It's a serial now. Yeah, wait, what did you? What was your?
Speaker 1I was going to say that came out before. I was going to say that came out before Before Nintendo Power.
Speaker 2Yeah, Nintendo Serial is 1986.
Speaker 1Okay, okay.
Speaker 2Phil, your favorite television show, Cops oh.
Speaker 3I thought you were going to go with Captain N. I'm going to go with before, but it's not after.
Speaker 1It's after 1989. Really 89.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, roger, your favorite show, american Gladiators.
Speaker 3Oh, I love American Gladiators.
Speaker 2That came out before. That came out after.
Speaker 1Really, what is that? 89?
Speaker 2as well. 89 as well.
Speaker 1Oh, wow, wow.
Speaker 2Phil, you have Snapple.
Speaker 3I'm going to put. Snapple before, if you are correct.
Speaker 2Yeah, snapple came out 87.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Roger, one of your favorite movies Nightmare on Elm Street 3, the Dream Warriors.
Speaker 1I have not seen this one.
Speaker 2What.
Speaker 1I'm going to say no, I've not seen any of Nightmare on Elm Street. Why would I watch those movies? Classic, yeah, okay After.
Speaker 2You are incorrect. It came out in 1987.
Speaker 1Really oh.
Speaker 2Yep. And then last one, phil. This one's for you. Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction.
Speaker 3Oh God, all right, so 10. I know I'm going to go with before by one year.
Speaker 2You are 100% correct 87?. Came out in 1987. Nintendo Power issue number one came out in July of 1988. So it was 35th anniversary.
Speaker 1Wow, what was on the cover? Was it Claymation and Mario right? Was that them? Yep? Was that for Mario 2? What was that for?
Speaker 3Yeah, mario 2.
Speaker 1Yeah, I will say I do miss that magazine. That was a cool magazine.
Speaker 2I miss American Gladiators. I do too.
Speaker 1Actually, I was just talking about that at work the other day. I like how awesome that show was.
Speaker 3I just watched the documentary on it, the other day Really.
Speaker 2Oh, that's right, yeah, I heard, that's pretty good too.
Speaker 3Yeah, it might have been on Vice or something like that, but it wasn't bad at all.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm. Do you guys remember when Nintendo Power had this deal that if you would buy it I don't remember when it was you get a Dragon Warrior. Dragon Warrior, that's how.
Speaker 2I got mine.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah. So I told my parents I want to subscribe to this magazine so I get this free game. And my dad said there's no such thing as a free game, that's a lie, it's not true. And my friend got it and he got the game. And I said, dad, and he was like I stand corrected, and that was it. That was like, yeah, I don't know, I'm staying corrected.
Speaker 2I was like that's hilarious because I told my mom the same thing and she refused to believe that you'd get a free game for it. I'm like no, you do, and I remember my mom calling the Nintendo Power number and arguing with them over whether or not we'd get a free game.
Speaker 3And she's like tell the story on controller, throw his once Mike.
Speaker 2I may have yeah.
Speaker 3Because it sounds familiar.
Speaker 2Yeah. And then she's like all right, if you get a free game, then fine, we'll do it for a year.
Speaker 3And then Mike never got the game.
Speaker 2Yep. No, I love the game. It came with the cover.
Speaker 1Didn't it come? It was on the cover, the issue two, wasn't it? Dragon Warrior?
Speaker 2No, I don't think it came with this.
Speaker 1I don't know, I don't know when they did that it came packaged in an issue, though right Like the issue, and then the game was packaged in the issue.
Speaker 2I don't even remember, I just remember the game and I think I remember it also had like a mini strategy guide or something.
Speaker 1Maybe that's what I'm thinking. I think maybe it came with a mini strategy guide. Maybe that's what I was thinking. I thought Dragon.
Speaker 3Warrior itself just came with a mini strategy guide because I didn't get it through Nintendo power, but I vaguely remember having a strategy guide with Dragon Warrior too, or as well. I should say I don't know.
Speaker 1Yeah, there's an alternate universe that I live in, that I got that game and that kid is a successful man right now.
Speaker 3That was the last RPG I played.
Speaker 1That was the last RPG you played. Was Dragon Warrior? Not really, but yes.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1All right. So thank you, mike. That was a fun game. I like that game, no problem. And the next thing I'm going to do is a segment called Buy it or Leave it. So I think we used to do this on Nintendo, the Nindie Focus right. Buy it or Leave it, yeah. So I'm going to list a couple of games that are coming out here either today or next week, and then you tell me if you're going to buy it or leave it. So the first one is Baldur Gates on PC. So it's only coming on PC right now.
Speaker 3It's not coming out. Pc and PlayStation get an early release.
Speaker 1I believe if you pre-ordered it.
Speaker 3Oh okay, that's only if you pre-ordered it.
Speaker 1All right. Well, since it came out today, because we're recording on the third, did you buy it or leave it, phil? Did you buy it or leave it?
Speaker 3Not on the PC.
Speaker 1Okay, did you buy it on a PlayStation?
Speaker 3I don't have a PlayStation 5 yet. I'll get it on the Xbox at some point, though, okay.
Speaker 1Mike, I'm leaving it. Yeah, I have zero interest. Okay, I was going to say are you a fan of Baldur's Gate or not? Really Nope.
Speaker 3No, but you are, phil, right. If it plays like the Dark Alliance, it's one. Okay, Thank you. Dark Alliance is fucking ruled.
Speaker 1Yeah, this game is coming out on August 8th. Wrestle Quest. Mike, are you going to buy this one or leave it?
Speaker 2Buying it.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Phil pushing all my chips in. I mean, yeah, me too, oh yeah.
Speaker 2Do either of you for your cable provider? Do you have Comcast?
Speaker 3I have them for my internet, but I don't have cable or Xfinity. Xfinity, same thing.
Speaker 2You have Xfinity for your internet.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2How long have you had it?
Speaker 3Six years, seven years.
Speaker 2Check the Xfinity app. I am almost positive of this. Check the Xfinity app. You've been with the company long enough that you would be considered like diamond tier and you get free stuff. I got a free Mario movie poster from them. They mailed it to me. I've got you know you can enter in for free different free contests and stuff. I think you can get Russell Russell Quest for free through. Xfinity rewards Hold on. Let me check on that. Before I start Russell Quest Xfinity, let me just check.
Speaker 2Get your hands on Russell Quest for free when you sign up for Xfinity rewards.
Speaker 3This means I got to find out, figure out on my login shit. Oh God, maybe just logged me and fuck it didn't.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's crazy. Do you have Xfinity on to Mike? Yeah, ok, and can you pick what system? I don't know yet.
Speaker 2That I'm not sure, ok.
Speaker 3OK, because it is coming to everything. I'm not doing it for the.
Speaker 1Switch.
Speaker 3Free or not, I'll give XBox money before I give Nintendo anymore, my damn money If it's free.
Speaker 1If it's free of the Switch, get it and give it to me, no.
Speaker 3Make you suffer what?
Speaker 2That doesn't make any sense, yeah, it does.
Speaker 3It makes perfect sense. But you've got tickets of the man making me play shitty ass video games. I'm going to buy it, I'm going to get the code, I'm going to start the motherfucker on fire in front of you just for making me play shitty games on the Switch.
Speaker 1Oh, I'm going to buy this game too, though I'm super excited about Russell Quest 30XX that's coming to Switch and PC on the 9th. Mike, are you going to buy that one or leave it?
Speaker 2You know what I'm going to go with? Buy it just because I did enjoy the first game. Ok, phil, I'm going to guess here, but it plays like Mega man, just so you know.
Speaker 3It plays like Mega man. No problems with Mega man, nice strikeout. Yeah, I probably won't buy it, but I've got nothing against Mega man.
Speaker 1I might buy. I think I'm going to buy it, but I'm also I'm also going to be looking at the preview of it. I'm interviewing the devs at PAX West, so maybe I'll play it, so that way I don't look like a fool when I play that game in front of them.
Speaker 3So maybe we should change the name of this not to buy it or not buy it, but buy it. I should say play it or not buy it, because like half of things that all of us buy. No, because like half the things that all of us buy, we don't actually fucking play. They just sit in our back.
Speaker 1That's true. That's true. That's true. That should be there. There should be buy options. Yes, buy it.
Speaker 2But play it, sit on it or pass yes.
Speaker 1Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2Buy it, leave it or backlog it.
Speaker 1Yeah, exactly. And the last one is straight. It's coming out on the Xbox. Phil, you're going to buy this one.
Speaker 3Yeah, man, I like it. I got two of them.
Speaker 1Yeah, Mike. I'm going to leave it. Ok, if it comes to game pass, I'll play it. I don't remember. It's probably more likely for me as well.
Speaker 3I didn't see it listed when I was looking at games coming soon, but I'm sure at some point it will.
Speaker 1Yeah, all right, that was the buyer. Leave it this week. And then, finally, our last segment, before we had out, is tales from the e shop. And Mike, what was the game that we gave him Last week or so, like week before A?
Speaker 2couple of weeks ago, before my birthday.
Speaker 1Before my birthday, yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. So Phil's assignment was a game called Riddled Corpses EX. Riddled Corpses EX is a twin stick shooter made in the style of eight or 16 bit arcade games. Travel through diverse locations packed with danger and huge bosses. Choose your character wisely and make good use of their abilities and the special items clock, dynamite and turrets to progress and destroy the root of evil. Some features 60 frames per second, fast paced action, two player local co-op, six characters with varying stats and abilities, arcade story and survival modes, combo system, quality chip tune music, register your best scores and the online leaderboard.
Speaker 3Well, you just covered half my review.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's a roguelike. There's your other half.
Speaker 3Nice, the cubs is fun. Is it a roguelike?
Speaker 2No, it was to me when I played it.
Speaker 3Really. Yeah, it's a roguelike. I'll be damned. I enjoyed this game.
Speaker 3It's very difficult but I enjoyed it. Twin sticky shooter Mike made a face. That means Mike did not like it. Mike thought it was trash, it was tough, but I, I don't know. I guess I'd probably put about an hour or a half into it and so much. It was just upgrading my character to make it, to make it a little bit more easy.
Speaker 3I only made it about, I'd say, halfway through the second world, judging by the bar that goes across the bottom of the screen. It was really confused with what I was getting into, because the the menu shows a couple of large Breasted anime looking chicks and I was like, oh boy, what am I getting into here? But then there were no large breasted anime chicks that I saw throughout the course of the game. So that was a little bit of false advertising. But I thought the game itself played solidly. I didn't get to the turret upgrade so I never saw those Difficult story mode couple of different things. There were two different soundtracks to the game as well. Ah, yeah, I. Why did you hate a mic or not hate it but not really care for it? Like I, I found it strangely addictive, I yeah why didn't you yeah?
Speaker 2I didn't. I seriously like I couldn't make it seven minutes and I would just keep replaying the same level and I know that's like how a roguelike works Is that you die over and over again and then you level up your character with the money that you earn and all that other stuff but I was like it's, it's the same exact level over and over, and I'm just like what you know?
Speaker 2I'm getting hit by the same level over and over again, that's what I was playing, I'll say the street level and I'm shooting these cars and flaming.
Speaker 1Did you make a pass? This did not make a pass. The street level. Did you upgrade your guns?
Speaker 2Yeah, oh no.
Speaker 3I didn't make a bad character.
Speaker 2There's no other one. You're guns.
Speaker 3Yeah, because it was the desert level, and that's the level that I couldn't make it that's. It does a little rough.
Speaker 2It was really. Maybe it was just too challenging. Maybe I'm just you know there probably was a scaffold scaffold, somewhere that I needed to grab.
Speaker 1No, no yo, but how long did you play it? For you said you didn't play it for about an hour.
Speaker 2You didn't for about an hour.
Speaker 1You need it like. Saying I'm just saying, like it is tough, it is tough and you have to in and it is roguelike in a, in the sense that you die, you level up your character, you spend that money to level up the character and stuff like well, a tough game.
Speaker 2Yeah, I will also say that I wasn't a big fan of Vampire survivors when I first played it. Yeah, like, maybe that's those times of games, is that you?
Speaker 3need to know. This is six times the game of this game.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2No, I agree I was like the controls worked and the game worked. There was nothing wrong with the game. I just was not enjoying it a whole lot, because I seriously like these. Like these bullets are randomly flying and I don't see when they're coming from or where they're going.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, I reviewed this game in 2019 actually, and On gamerheads podcast, calm, you can go read a review. I give it a minus. I like the game, hmm, so.
Speaker 3Oh, I don't like. Mike feels the corpse about corpses, like Roger does about firefighters.
Speaker 1Oh, so okay, well, that was that week's Mike. Do you have two games for him this week?
Speaker 2I do so you're gonna, man, I guess this week, because last week I don't think we feel like we stuck it to the man.
Speaker 3I mean.
Speaker 1I think maybe it's sick it to the man with this game, but I don't think so.
Speaker 3Yeah, I don't like, I don't know. I'd give it a solid B.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I mean, I gave it a minus, which is, you know, people say minus whatever. You know whatever.
Speaker 3I said B plus okay, well, whatever.
Speaker 2All right, well, let's see so this week. So you have, you can choose this one or go, but the go for the secret game that's behind door number two. This game right now is 299 on the e-shop. It is 80% off, normally 1499, all-time low.

Speaker 1I mean it doesn't look bad, actually it looks pretty good. I mean I think it looks pretty good.
Speaker 3So I have thoughts on this. Without seeing anything and just hearing mic's description, I Really like the sounds of the concept of this game. I enjoy pinball. I like upgrading. What I don't like is the word adorkable. Yeah, it's. It's really stupid. I'm passing just due to adorkable. You guys will not be getting my money.
Speaker 1You know it's a normally 15 dollars. That's a. That's a pretty good discount to 2.99. It's on sale until the 24th of uh august on the switch.
Speaker 3So I don't care. I said adorkable too many times All right once was once too many and they said it three, all right, all right.
Speaker 1I will say it is. It is very cutesy, that's I mean. Right, mike, wouldn't you say that?
Speaker 2Yeah, it's a cute, it looks like a cute.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah it looks like a cute game, all right.
Speaker 2All right, well, uh, so you're going with door number two.
Speaker 3Yes, please.
Speaker 2Okay, so well. This game is also a cutesy game.
Speaker 1Damn it yeah.
Speaker 2Well, yeah, well, well, let's. So. You mentioned corpses earlier, but you mentioned something else about riddled corpses ex that was uh false advertising.
Speaker 1Oh no.
Speaker 3This game is on sale for a white one covered zombies playing this game and Rachel's not at home.
Speaker 2I would not. I would not give him waifu uncovered Um. This game is a dollar 99. It's 86 off.
Speaker 1Oh, it's on sale.
Speaker 2It's on sale until august 15th Phil. Okay your next game and make sure Rachel's not around when you're playing it. Hentai world definitive edition. How is this game on the switch? How's this game on?
Speaker 1the switch.
Speaker 2Pretty easily. I guess you have to actually put an age verification to go see this game. Yes, and here's the description. Hentai is art.
Speaker 3Oh my god, yes, it is Art with tentacles.

Speaker 2I don't know, I have no idea. I just looking at the pictures and I'm like all right, well, yeah, that's, that's.
Speaker 1What is this game called? Because there's I'm not entire world definitive edition. Oh. You know, that there's a lot of these games out there. There's one called hentai girls, ultimate edition, world definitive edition. There is, there's so many internet roger.
Speaker 2There's this website called new grounds. What's that?
Speaker 1Hey time out, what time out. I'm on nintendo's Dot com and I'm like what I did not know all these games existed oh.
Speaker 2Phil, I'm so glad you won with door number two. Actually, in this case, in this case, door number 36, triple d.
Speaker 3I have to help me, I had to review this one next week.
Speaker 1Oh my god, this is. This is crazy. You know, the crazy thing is that the ultimate edition is on sale, but the normal one is not. That doesn't make any sense to me. There's the the world, there's the hentai world deluxe edition that's not on sale, but then you have the hentai world definitive edition, which is on sale, and they both no one came out in march of 2023. The other one came out Of july of 2023. The one that came out in july of 2023 is on sale. Weird, interesting.
Speaker 3You know, the only thing that I wish right now is that we had a sponsorship with bluetooth, so that way we could squeeze that in right now. I was about to play hentai world definitive edition.
Speaker 1Oh man, those ads keep popping up on my uh uh twitter anymore. I don't even want to call it anymore twitter x, whatever, uh, and I'm like stop, stop it. Uh, okay, well, we'll look forward to you.

I'm like, oh, you're going to candlestick. And he's like, what the hell is candlestick? And I was like, oh, that's funny.
Speaker 1Uh, what is candlestick called now actually?
Speaker 3I Couldn't tell you. I know for a while they just called it phone park because over the course of 10 years it had like four different phone company sponsorships.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, which it might be pack bell. Oh, maybe I mean I called miller park miller park. It's not miller park anymore, but I call it miller park.
